Rapper Meek Mill is ready to fight back against what he calls a coordinated effort to tarnish his name in connection with recent allegations involving Diddy. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Philadelphia rapper expressed frustration over what he sees as lies being perpetuated by media outlets, particularly those not owned by Black individuals.
None of these publications are owned by Black men, posting things to destroy the names and brands of the culture!
Meek wrote, responding to reports linking him to controversies surrounding Diddy. He accused the media of spreading misinformation and vowed to launch an investigation to identify the source of these stories.
In a series of posts, Meek highlighted how the narratives in these publications have shifted over the years. He also criticized media outlets for targeting Black men with damaging stories.
When I see Page Six post something, it gives me a bad vibe
he noted, claiming the coverage feels orchestrated. Meek also suggested a deeper agenda at play, pointing to systemic issues in how stories about Black public figures are consumed and presented.
Back in September, Meek even offered $100,000 to hire an investigative team to uncover how his name became entangled in the Diddy controversy, which includes allegations of sexual misconduct and harassment.
Though Meek has distanced himself from the allegations, speculation began after producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones filed a lawsuit against Diddy earlier this year, with a footnote referencing a “Philadelphia rapper.” This led to internet rumors that Meek was somehow involved, despite no concrete evidence linking him to the case.
In his posts, Meek voiced support for Diddy as a fellow Black man, expressing hope that the accusations are false, while also condemning the media for perpetuating harmful narratives.
I wish Puff well. He’s a Black man. I hope he didn’t do most of that stuff they’re saying he did,
Meek said, before encouraging others to speak out against the misinformation.
As the story develops, Meek remains resolute in his mission to clear his name and expose what he believes to be a targeted smear campaign.
