Marquise Jackson, the estranged son of rap mogul 50 Cent, didn’t miss the chance to poke fun at their fractured relationship this Father’s Day.
On Sunday, June 15, the 28-year-old took to Instagram with a sharp jab that turned their well-documented family feud into a darkly comedic mock betting slip. The satirical post joked about the chances of 50 Cent posting a picture with him or even acknowledging him at all on Father’s Day. Unsurprisingly, the odds were hilariously stacked against it.
“Oh it’s Father’s Day . Happy Father’s Day to all the real ones! I’m watching my bet and it ain’t looking too good I got the over… We all know this the day for photo ops. The Day ain’t over yet FINISH STRONG… GET ON YOUR JOB,” Marquise captioned the post.
A Decade-Long Dispute
This public jab is just the latest in a tense and emotionally charged standoff that’s spanned over a decade. The father-son relationship reportedly began unraveling after 50 Cent’s split from Marquise’s mother, Shaniqua Tompkins, back in the mid-2000s. Their custody battle ended in 2008, but the emotional fallout only deepened from there.
In a 2008 interview with MTV, 50 Cent—real name Curtis Jackson—said he had to speak to his son through court-appointed lawyers, painting a picture of legal red tape and emotional distance. He also blamed the fallout on money matters, hinting at financial tensions with Tompkins:
“The relationship between my wallet and his mom has changed,” he said. “She said all kind of things about me I never would expect.”
“Superman” Turned Stranger
Marquise, for his part, has often spoken about the pain of growing up with a famous but increasingly distant father.
In a 2017 Rap-Up interview, he said the relationship began to collapse when he was just 10 or 11:
“Growing up, my dad was my superhero… But then, as I got older, you start realizing things… He’s still alive but I can’t tell you our last conversation or the last time we even had a dialogue.”

In recent years, the estrangement has only grown more public and more personal. During a 2020 interview with XXL’s Van Lathan, 50 Cent called the situation “sad,” even going so far as to say Marquise “had everything I didn’t have.” But that sympathy didn’t last long.
The real rift deepened in 2020 when Fifty said he’d choose rapper 6ix9ine over his own son. In 2022, Marquise sarcastically offered his father $6,700—roughly one month of child support—as a symbolic “olive branch” in exchange for one full day of his time. The rapper responded by mocking him on Instagram, ridiculing the gesture and saying Marquise was “too old” to still be talking about child support.
When Marquise later revealed that he was blocked by 50 Cent on social media, the rapper didn’t back down, brushing off his son’s attempts at reconciliation as attention-seeking in a Breakfast Clubinterview.
