Mariah Carey is celebrating 25 years of her cult classic album Glitter with a special reissue. The singer announced on social media that the 25th anniversary edition will be released on October 30, 2026, featuring bonus tracks and vinyl editions.
To whet fans’ appetites, Carey dropped a new remix of “Didn’t Mean to Turn You On” featuring Rochelle Jordan. The full reissue will include three bonus tracks:
“Out Here On My Own” – A cover recorded during the original 2000 studio sessions.
“Didn’t Mean To Turn You On (Rochelle Jordan Remix)” – A new electronic-R&B version of the fan-favorite track.
“Loverboy (Firecracker – Original Version)” – The legendary unreleased original version of the lead single built around the sample from Yellow Magic Orchestra’s “Firecracker”.
The album is being reissued on vinyl for the first time since its original release, with limited edition Glittering Pink and Midnight Purple 2LP variants. The Glittering Pink numbered edition, limited to 3,000 copies, includes a signed lithograph.
Originally released on September 11, 2001, Glitter served as the soundtrack to Carey’s semi-autobiographical film of the same name. The album struggled initially but has since become a cult classic after fans rallied behind it with the #JusticeForGlitter campaign in 2018. The reissue will also be available on streaming platforms, where the album was previously removed.
