Marcellus Wiley was already in legal hot water months before his Fourth of July domestic battery arrest. Preferred Bank sued the former NFL star and his company, Dat Dude Entertainment in December 2025 for allegedly failing to repay a $500,000 loan.

According to court filings, Wiley took out the loan in May 2023 with a one-year repayment agreement. The bank claims he never paid back the principal or any accrued interest, despite being granted several extensions through December 2025.

The lawsuit adds to a growing pile of legal troubles for the 51-year-old. On July 4, he was arrested in Orlando on a domestic battery charge after his wife Annemarie, alleged he poked her in the cheek and threatened to kill her during a family trip. She filed for divorce on July 6 and obtained a temporary restraining order, accusing Wiley of years of physical and sexual abuse, including four alleged rapes dating back to 2012.

Wiley has denied all allegations, calling them false and saying he has evidence to contradict Annemarie’s claims . He also faces separate sexual assault lawsuits from multiple women spanning the mid-1990s through 2009.
