Mandy Moore and her family are on the mend after their Los Angeles home was severely damaged in the devastating wildfires that swept through the area in January 2025.

According to This Is Us co-star Chrissy Metz, the actress and singer is staying strong despite the traumatic ordeal. Speaking to Extra, Chrissy shared:

“She’s doing well. I mean, thank goodness. A lot of the structure was able to be salvaged, which is great, but it’s so jarring. It’s so life-altering, and she has children and pets. It’s just frightening because there’s nothing you can do but hopefully get out of there.”

Mandy, 41, shares three young children — Gus, 4, Oscar, 3, and 10-month-old Louise — with her husband, musician Taylor Goldsmith. Thankfully, the family made it out safely, though the loss and damage have been deeply emotional.

Chrissy also confirmed that the This Is Us cast — including Sterling K. Brown, Milo Ventimiglia, Justin Hartley, Susan Kelechi Watson, and Chris Sullivan — remain close and frequently stay in touch.

“Oh, my gosh, everybody. We all are texting each other,” she said. “I always text when any projects come out or Sterling with his nominations for ‘Paradise.’”

Mandy has spoken openly about how the wildfires changed her life and praised her mother-in-law, Kathy Goldsmith, for being a constant pillar of support. In a moving Instagram post, Mandy called Kathy the “silver lining” in their tragedy, revealing that she also lost her own home in the fires.

“I’m not sure what I would have done without her… She suffered her own immense loss and has been by our side since the very beginning, without skipping a beat.”

For six months, the two families lived under one roof, with Mandy praising Kathy for “mastering” childcare duties and being there for every bath time, meal, and emotional moment.

“We couldn’t be luckier that she’s ours and we’re never letting her go,” she added warmly.

Now, Mandy says she’s looking forward to rebuilding — both her home and the sense of peace it once brought.
