Manchester City ended their recent slump with a commanding 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the Etihad. After a turbulent period that saw them lose six of seven matches, the defending champions showed signs of recovery.
Bernardo Silva put City ahead early with a goal in the 8th minute, and Kevin De Bruyne, in his first start in nearly three months, doubled the lead on the half-hour mark with a superb strike. De Bruyne’s performance was a highlight, as he not only scored but also set up the opening goal, orchestrating play for nearly 75 minutes before being substituted.
Despite the win, Pep Guardiola’s side offered Forest more opportunities than he would have liked, with the visitors failing to capitalize on their chances. While City’s dominance was restored on the scoreline, there’s still work to do for Guardiola as his team continues to chase down their rivals.
