A 63-year-old man was arrested this week after allegedly crashing his car through the front gate of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s East Hampton estate. The suspect, identified as Keith Jonathan Webster from the Bronx, drove his Subaru “at a high rate of speed up the driveway” and failed to stop at the mechanical gates around 12 p.m. on Wednesday, causing significant damage to the property’s security checkpoint.

Police said Webster appeared “confused” during and after the incident. Detective Sergeant Jennifer Dunn told reporters he has no criminal record and did not mention Beyoncé, Jay-Z, or anyone living at the property. Before the crash, Webster had reportedly stopped at another nearby home looking for a woman who didn’t live there. The homeowner also said he seemed confused before driving away.

Webster was taken to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital after complaining of pain and later charged with felony criminal mischief in the second degree and misdemeanor criminal trespass. During his arraignment on Thursday, he appeared disoriented and was taken to a mental health facility for evaluation. A stay-away order was issued, banning him from contacting the couple.

It remains unclear whether Beyoncé and Jay-Z were home at the time of the incident. Police found no weapons, notes, or evidence that Webster intentionally targeted the couple. His vehicle has been impounded as the investigation continues. Representatives for Beyoncé and Jay-Z have not publicly commented.
