Mackenzie Edwards has been granted temporary custody of her two children with ex-husband Ryan Edwards after she claimed he relapsed on drugs. In a court order obtained by Us Weekly, a Tennessee judge restricted Ryan’s contact with their kids and barred him from driving or transporting them. The Mackenzie Edwards custody ruling also prohibits Ryan’s wife, Amanda Conner, from supervising the children, driving them, or being alone with them.
As part of the order, Ryan, who has had multiple past arrests, will have to have his fingernails tested for drug use. Mackenzie claimed in an emergency petition that Ryan allegedly used Kratom, an herbal substance that is banned in Tennessee. Her legal team said the custody change is meant to ensure the children’s safety and that she wants them to maintain a relationship with Ryan’s parents. Ryan will only be allowed to see the children at his parents’ house.
The former couple married in 2017 and finalized their divorce in 2025. Ryan wed Amanda Conner just weeks later. Mackenzie and Ryan share two children. Ryan has not publicly responded to the allegations, and the temporary order remains in effect pending a further hearing.
