Love Island USA star Nic Vansteenberghe has broken his silence following his split from costar Olandria Carthen. On July 26, the 25-year-old shared a statement in a subscribers-only TikTok confirming the breakup.
“The rumors are true. I didn’t want to give people false hope, so I want to clear the air,” Vansteenberghe wrote. “We will continue to love each other ALWAYS. It’s a sensitive, as well as a private subject; thank you for respecting our privacy”. He explained in the caption that he chose to address the news on the platform because his subscribers are “our biggest supporters”.
The fan-favorite couple, affectionately dubbed “Nicolandria” by their supporters, finished as runners-up on season 7 of Love Island USA in 2025. A source said that the pair “decided to part ways” just over a year after leaving the Fiji villa together. Long-distance and demanding schedules ultimately made maintaining their connection difficult. While they have gone their separate ways, the source noted they “remain close friends” who “share a deep love and respect for each other”.
Their journey in the villa was unconventional. Carthen and Vansteenberghe initially pursued other connections before finding their way back to one another just days before the finale. Since leaving the show, the couple largely kept their relationship private. In June, Carthen explained to Cosmopolitan that they avoid putting their relationship “on display,” preferring to simply enjoy each other’s company.
