Reality television personality Sidney Starr is facing life-altering felony charges in Georgia after police arrested her over the weekend in connection with an alleged sexual assault involving a juvenile. The 37-year-old transgender model, whose legal name is Sidney Favors, was taken into custody on August 2 at the Embassy Suites in Hapeville, Georgia.
Police have charged Starr with sexual battery against a child under 16, aggravated child molestation, and sodomy. She is accused of confessing to performing oral sex on a minor at the hotel. Authorities have released few additional details because the case involves a juvenile, and the investigation has been turned over to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
Starr had been in Georgia to host a reunion for the reality series “Industry Girl” at Encore Film Studios. She remained in custody at the Fulton County Jail awaiting her first court appearance.
Best known for appearances on “Love & Hip Hop: New York,” “Baddies ATL,” and “Wild ‘N Out,” Starr first gained notoriety in 2010 after falsely claiming she had a sexual relationship with rapper Chingy. She later publicly apologized and admitted the claim was fabricated to advance her career. Chingy has said the rumor severely damaged his career. The circumstances surrounding the new allegations remain unclear as the legal process moves forward.
