Lizzo is celebrating a massive career milestone: her hit single “About Damn Time” has officially surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify, making it her second song to reach the landmark after “Truth Hurts”. But while the numbers are historic, the celebration came with a raw, emotional confession.

The 38-year-old singer took to Instagram to mark the achievement, revealing that success is arriving during one of the most difficult periods of her life. “I’m weeping on the floor; nobody knows what I’ve been going through privately,” she wrote. She described it as “a roller coaster” filled with sleepless nights, tears, and physical pain that has left her nervous system “so shot I can barely go through a day”.

Despite everything, Lizzo remains defiant. “Sometimes I feel like my hands are tied behind my back and life is whooping my ass. But I wake up EVERY DAY and declare victory,” she wrote. She credited her faith and fans for pushing her forward, adding, “No weapon formed against me will prosper”.

The milestone comes during a challenging commercial chapter. Her latest album, Bitch, reportedly sold fewer than 3,000 copies in its first week and failed to crack the Billboard 200. She’s also faced ongoing legal battles, including a 2023 sexual harassment lawsuit from former dancers that she has consistently denied.
