The holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial is ready to get back to normal. Michael Desronvil, whose lone vote for a not guilty verdict by reason of insanity forced a mistrial, has been “laying low” since the proceedings ended, according to his attorney, Edward Andrew Paltzik. Desronvil had been taking time off from his job at a property maintenance company, but Paltzik says he plans to return to work in a week.
The Lindsay Clancy holdout juror has spent his time “processing everything,” Paltzik said, going to church, reading, and spending time with his girlfriend. “He wants to eventually tell his story, but for right now he has no plans to speak publicly because it’s been a lot,” Paltzik said. “He’s incredibly grateful and touched by everyone that has supported him and donated,” Paltzik said they have been in touch with Massachusetts State Police and the District Attorney’s office regarding Desronvil’s safety.
Desronvil is also planning to file a bar complaint against Lindsay Clancy’s defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, according to sources. He reportedly felt targeted in the days after the trial and is calling for Reddington to be suspended or disbarred. The jury deadlocked 11-1 earlier this month, with Desronvil the sole holdout for a not criminally responsible verdict. Prosecutors have not yet announced whether they will retry the case. A status hearing is scheduled for September 29.
