Lil Wayne is single again. The legendary rapper confirmed he and 23-year-old Madi Cannon have gone their separate ways, and shut down rumors they were ever engaged in the first place.
During a candid live stream over the weekend, Weezy addressed the swirling speculation about his personal life while also explaining why he missed his tour opener in Bangor, Maine. The “A Milli” rapper revealed he and Cannon, a social media influencer, are no longer together, calling her “an amazing person” but saying he didn’t “want to be such a burden on such an amazing person”.
Rumors of an engagement had been circulating since May 2026, but Wayne set the record straight. He insisted they were never engaged, just boyfriend and girlfriend. The rapper explained that he initiated the breakup, feeling the current climate and public scrutiny would be too much for her to handle. Despite the split, he had nothing but kind words for Cannon, making clear there was no bad blood.
The couple had recently been spotted together in a photo with Skip Bayless and his wife , making the sudden announcement all the more surprising.
The breakup news came alongside Wayne’s explanation for his controversial no-show at the June 30 tour opener in Bangor, Maine, which left thousands of fans waiting before being told the show was canceled. He revealed the absence was due to health issues, citing migraines and potential seizure risk. Wayne has been open about his epilepsy struggles, which have caused previous hospitalizations.
The tour has continued with more drama, Wayne arrived two hours late to his Friday show in Gilford, New Hampshire, leaving fans frustrated once again. The Bangor show has been rescheduled for July 28.
