Lil Wayne is officially getting a permanent spot on Hollywood Boulevard. The rapper was announced as a member of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2027 on July 23, joining 32 honorees selected across six categories. Weezy will receive his star in the Recording category alongside an eclectic lineup that includes Karol G, David Guetta, Grandmaster Flash, Sia, The Smashing Pumpkins, Linkin Park, The Ramones, and the late Waylon Jennings.

The five-time Grammy winner and Young Money founder shared his disbelief on X, initially thinking his longtime collaborator Fabian Marasciullo was joking with him. “Wtf boy!! This man play too much bruh! U serious boy??!?!?!!?” Wayne wrote after learning the news. His career boasts five No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, 195 Hot 100 entries, and three chart-topping singles including “Lollipop” and DJ Khaled’s “I’m the One”.

The 2027 class spans entertainment categories including Motion Pictures, featuring Idris Elba, Kate Hudson, Sam Elliott, Cheech & Chong, and sisters Dakota and Elle Fanning in a double ceremony; Television with Pedro Pascal, Keke Palmer, Lisa Kudrow, and Raven-Symoné; and Radio with Charlamagne tha God. Ron Frierson, President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, called the honorees “trailblazers whose influence will be felt for generations to come”.

Ceremony dates for the 2027 class have not yet been scheduled. Recipients have up to two years from their selection to arrange their individual star unveiling.
