Liam Payne’s young son is set to inherit a fortune. Bear Grey Payne, now 9 years old, has been named the sole beneficiary of the late One Direction star’s estate, which totals nearly $28 million. The money is being held in a trust until Bear reaches adulthood.
Liam died tragically in October 2024 after falling from a balcony at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He did not have a will at the time of his death. Singer Cheryl, Bear’s mother, and music lawyer Richard Bray were named as administrators of the estate, which also includes Liam’s five-bedroom home in England.
Some of the money can be used now for Bear’s immediate needs. But most of it is locked in a trust until he turns 18. At that point, he will gain full control of the inheritance. The arrangement ensures the fortune is protected and managed responsibly while he is still a child.
Liam was in a relationship with influencer Kate Cassidy at the time of his death. Reports indicate she does not intend to make any claim against his estate. The inheritance will go entirely to Bear, as intended.
Several people have been charged in connection with Liam’s death, including hotel staff accused of supplying him with drugs. The criminal case continues to unfold as his son prepares for a future shaped by both tragedy and immense wealth.
