Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Aloba, has made an emotional plea for the late singer’s burial, accusing her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, of keeping his body in the morgue for personal gain rather than love or justice.
In a heartbreaking post shared on Instagram, Omowunmi opened up about 18 months of grief, raising their son alone, and battling endless controversies surrounding Mohbad’s tragic death in September 2023.
“Why Won’t He Let My Husband Rest?”
Omowunmi directly called out Joseph Aloba, claiming he refuses to bury Mohbad because he thrives on the attention, sympathy, and financial donations that have come with the tragedy.
“There is no reason, no justification for why his body is still lying in the morgue after all this time. No reason why the man I vowed to love forever has been left in cold storage, denied the dignity of a final resting place,” she wrote.
She alleged that online influencers and social media agitators have turned Mohbad’s death into a business, profiting from the tragedy while encouraging her father-in-law to delay the burial. According to her, these individuals pay him a monthly salary from the money they make spreading malicious lies about her and her child.
The DNA Test Delay—A Tactic for More Attention?
Joseph Aloba had previously demanded a DNA test to confirm the paternity of Mohbad’s son. However, Omowunmi now claims he is stalling the test not because he wants the truth but because he wants to keep the controversy alive for financial gain.
“He knows that once my husband is finally laid to rest, the public sympathy, the donations, the sudden fame he has found will disappear,” she added.
