Lady Gaga is starting 2025 off with a bang! The pop icon shared an emotional message with her fans on TikTok after her duet with Bruno Mars, “Die With a Smile,” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song, which dropped in August 2024, reached the top spot this week, making it Gaga’s sixth No. 1 hit on the chart.
In her heartfelt video, Gaga expressed her gratitude to her fans, saying, “I am so incredibly grateful that my song ‘Die With a Smile’ with Bruno Mars, my friend, is No. 1 on the Hot 100. I can’t believe I’ve had two No. 1s in three different decades that I’ve been releasing my music in this profession.”
The achievement is especially significant for Gaga, as she becomes one of the few artists to secure No. 1 hits in the ’00s, ’10s, and ’20s. Joining the ranks of legends like Michael and Janet Jackson, this milestone further cements her place in music history. Gaga continued, “I’m so honored to be an artist and to have had your ears for this long. Thank you for listening and dancing and making your art along with mine.”
“Die With a Smile” spent eight weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, and with its recent Hot 100 success, the song has solidified its place in pop music history. Gaga’s excitement was palpable as she shared her joy, saying, “It’s 2025 and I have a No. 1 song — it’s pretty wild.”
Looking ahead, Gaga fans have even more to be excited about. The pop star’s highly anticipated seventh studio album is set for release in February 2025, and it will include “Die With a Smile” as well as the previously released single, “Disease.” Gaga ended her TikTok with a teaser, saying, “I’m so excited for you to hear what more I have in store for you.”
With a No. 1 hit and a new album on the horizon, Lady Gaga’s year is off to an unforgettable start!
