Soap opera fans hoping for a reunion with a beloved star just received disappointing news. Kirsten Storms has announced she has no plans for a General Hospital return, citing an alleged phone hack and an escalating legal battle with her ex-husband, Brandon Barash. The actress, known for her role as Maxie Jones, says she cannot commit to heading back to Los Angeles to film while her personal life remains in turmoil.

The General Hospital return many anticipated now seems unlikely after Storms posted an emotional message on social media. She explained that taking time away from the show in mid-2025 was meant to be a leap of faith. The goal was to improve her quality of life as a single mother while managing a recently discovered brain aneurysm. Instead, she now faces what she describes as a violation of her privacy.

Storms claims someone gained access to her WiFi and cellphone. She also alleges an attempted break-in at her home. “Realizing that not only was my apartment/space/privacy being violated, but this person also gained access to my WiFi and cellphone,” she wrote. The actress says the experience has been deeply upsetting.

The situation intensified when Brandon Barash obtained a temporary restraining order against Storms. In court documents, Barash expressed concern over Storms’ mental health, stating she had experienced delusions and hallucinations. He claimed she had been moving between friends’ homes and apartments. The court found Storms was in a “mental health crisis,” granting Barash temporary custody of their daughter. Storms now has supervised visitation.

Storms made her position clear. Filming a soap opera simply is not possible while she navigates this crisis. “Given what’s been going on, I can’t say I will feel comfortable heading back to Los Angeles and returning to work,” she stated. The actress added that the entire ordeal has been an eye-opening experience about the downside of her profession. For now, her health, safety, and family take priority over any General Hospital return.
