Kerry Katona has opened up about the fear and anxiety she experienced before undergoing her latest breast enlargement surgery, admitting it left her with “sleepless nights.”
The 44-year-old former Atomic Kitten star made the decision to go from a 34B to a 34DD after shedding nearly 30 pounds and noticing changes in her body shape. But despite having undergone cosmetic procedures before, Kerry confessed this particular surgery felt different.
“I’ve always been nervous before having surgery – I’m not good in the lead-up at all. But I was so scared for this one,” she told new! magazine. “I think, with age, I’ve become more nervous. There’s more to lose these days. I’ve got kids at home to think about, so there’s more on the line if anything went wrong.”
A source close to Kerry added that she often battles anxiety before operations: “Kerry is a worrier and she has sleepless nights before getting any surgery. She’d hate for anything to go wrong, and that’s always at the back of her mind. Being a mother is her life.”
Kerry, who shares five children with her three ex-husbands, is now in recovery and adjusting to her new look — and new routine. She gave fans a post-op update in her column, writing:
“I’m in complete rest mode since my breast surgery, which is difficult for me since I’m always so busy. I’m still trying to do all of my meetings and am working from home. I’ve also been spending more quality time with the kids since wrapping up filming on Celebs Go Dating, which is really nice.”
Back in April, Kerry had postponed the surgery following a family intervention. Her daughters encouraged her to delay the procedure and enjoy their planned trip to Thailand instead.
“Molly, Lilly, and Heidi all said: ‘Go to Thailand, don’t get your boobs done!’ I think they just don’t want me getting any more surgery!” she recalled.
Although the surgery is now complete, Kerry emphasized how seriously she takes the process — including choosing safety over vanity.
“It’s a shame, but I’m glad Pall Mall Cosmetics take safety so seriously and put regulations above the procedure.”
Now in recovery, Kerry is focusing on rest, family time, and embracing her confidence boost — all while staying cautious and transparent about the realities behind going under the knife.
