Kendrick Lamar and SZA Break Touring Record Set by Beyoncé and Jay-Z with Grand National Tour

Kendrick Lamar and SZA have just made music history.

The dynamic duo has officially broken the record for the highest-grossing co-headlining tour of all time, surpassing the previous titleholders Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Their joint Grand National Tour has now grossed a staggering $256.4 million from just 23 shows across North America, selling 1.1 million tickets, according to Billboard.

That total edges out the On the Run II Tour, which grossed $253.5 million in 2018, by just over $3 million—a narrow but significant 1% lead that cements the Lamar-SZA tour as one for the books.

A New Era of Touring Royalty

Though Beyoncé and Jay-Z still hold the record for most tickets sold at 2.2 million, Billboard suggests that Lamar and SZA may catch up by the time the Grand National Tour wraps globally.

This tour not only marks a major milestone in hip-hop and R&B history but also serves as the biggest concert run in both Kendrick and SZA’s careers. From sold-out arenas to a powerful cultural impact, the duo is redefining what a modern joint tour looks like.

What’s Next on the Grand National Tour

With the North American leg now wrapped, the Grand National Tour is set to continue:

Europe and the U.K. dates begin July 2

Latin America follows in September and October (Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile)

Australia will host Kendrick for two massive shows in December

A Power Duo with Real Chemistry

Their onstage synergy is nothing new. Fans will remember SZA joining Lamar as a surprise guest during the Super Bowl halftime show earlier this year. The pair, formerly labelmates under Top Dawg Entertainment, have consistently collaborated on unforgettable tracks.

Their recent collabs off Kendrick’s GNX album—“Gloria” and “Luther”—are already fan favorites, sampling legends like Luther Vandross and Cheryl Lynn. The two previously struck gold with:

“All the Stars” – Grammy-nominated and Oscar-nominated

“Doves in the Wind” – a cult favorite among SZA fans

With more global dates ahead, Lamar and SZA aren’t just breaking records—they’re reshaping the landscape of live music.
