Keke Palmer Mysteriously Absent From Emmys Despite Scheduled Appearance

Keke Palmer was a no-show at the 78th Emmy Awards on Monday night, despite being announced as a presenter alongside Saturday Night Live star Marcello Hernández. The actress was scheduled to hand out the Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series award, but when the moment came, Hernández took the stage alone, presenting the trophy to Widow’s Bay‘s Hiro Murai by himself. Palmer’s absence was never addressed on air, and her representatives have not commented.

The mystery deepened given Palmer’s activity in the hours before the ceremony. She had been posting on social media to promote her podcast, including an upcoming interview with Octavia Spencer, and was listed in the Television Academy’s official presenter lineup just days earlier. Fans quickly noticed her absence, with some taking to social media to express concern. “Am I the only one worried about Keke Palmer?? Where is she?” one viewer wrote.

Palmer, a six-time Emmy nominee, recently wrapped the first season of her Peacock series The ‘Burbs, which was renewed for a second season in April after drawing 1.7 billion minutes of viewership. Despite the no-show, Hernández kept the segment moving, using his solo moment to shout out Harrison Ford, Zendaya, and Oscar Isaac before presenting the award.
