‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star Kathy Hilton is pushing back against a house guest suing over an alleged fall at her $28 million Bel Air estate. According to court documents obtained, Hilton denied the allegations brought by a woman named Kimberly Heffington. He raised an affirmative defense, indicating she may argue that Heffington’s injuries were caused by exposing herself to a “known danger”. The legal battle centers on an August 2024 incident where Heffington claims she tripped on uneven pavers while walking from the tennis court to the pool area.
Heffington was a guest at Hilton’s sprawling 7-bedroom, 8-bathroom, 15,000-square-foot property when the incident occurred. She alleges that after coming off an outdoor staircase leading from the tennis court up to the pool area, her foot “was caught in between uneven pavers,” causing her to trip and fall violently to the ground. The fall, she claims, resulted in severe and permanent injuries, including a complex medial meniscus tear to her right knee. Heffington filed her lawsuit in 2025 and is now demanding more than 50,000 a year, approximately 55,000, for future medical expenses, plus additional unspecified damages.
Paris and Nicky Hilton’s mother is not accepting liability quietly. In her court response, Hilton raised an affirmative defense that the injuries sustained by Heffington were caused by her own actions, specifically, exposing herself to a known danger. Essentially, Hilton may argue that Heffington saw the uneven pavers or should have been aware of them and chose to proceed anyway. This legal maneuver could shift responsibility away from the reality star if she can prove the guest assumed the risk of injury.
Heffington is also seeking reimbursement for medical bills and is still gathering information about lost wages and future wage loss. She has taken issue with the fact that no signs or traffic cones were installed to warn visitors of the uneven pavement, alleging negligence on Hilton’s part. The Bel Air property, which Hilton began living in during August 2024 — the same month as the incident, has been described by the matriarch as a “hub” for her family, friends, and even her children’s friends.
With a house guest suing over an alleged fall at her Bel Air mansion, Kathy Hilton is making it clear she won’t write a check without a fight. Whether a jury believes Heffington’s injury was an accident or her own doing remains to be seen. One thing is certain: reality TV drama has officially spilled from the screen into the courtroom.
