Controversial rapper and fashion mogul Kanye West, aka YE, seems ready to mend fences with longtime rival Drake, as he openly admitted that jealousy played a role in their rocky relationship.
Taking to his X account with over 33 million followers, YE surprised fans by expressing love and respect for the Canadian rapper while making a heartfelt request for Drake to speak at his funeral.
In his words:
“I’ve let jealousy get the best of me… I love Drake… I need him to speak at my funeral.”
This public declaration comes shortly after Kanye left a simple “cool” comment on a photo of Drake performing in Australia — a subtle attempt to break the ice.
Their on-and-off feud stretches back nearly two decades, starting when Kanye produced Drake’s breakout hit “Find Your Love” in 2010. Although they publicly squashed their beef during the Free Larry Hoover concert in 2021, tensions have flared up multiple times since then.
YE’s recent social media activity has been controversial, but this latest gesture could mark a fresh chapter between the two hip-hop icons.
So far, Drake hasn’t responded — possibly due to his ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar — but YE’s message might have come at the perfect time for a long-overdue reconciliation.
