Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been granted bail by a Kwara State court following his recent arrest by the police.
The arrest stemmed from a petition filed by fellow artist Okunola Saheed, better known as Osupa, who accused Portable of multiple offences including criminal defamation, threat to life, character assassination, incitement, and use of abusive language—all of which allegedly amounted to conduct capable of causing a breach of public peace.

Court Proceedings and Bail Terms
After the court session on Monday, April 14, Portable’s legal representative, Barrister Isaac Adebayo, confirmed the bail approval.
“I made an oral application and it was granted,” Adebayo stated.
While speaking further, Adebayo revealed that Osupa had rejected multiple peace offers, including apologies from Portable and intervention from the Commissioner of Police (CP), insisting on pursuing legal action.
The bail conditions, described as stringent, require:
• A surety who is the Kwara State Chairman of PMAN (Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria)
• Another surety with a landed property in GRA
• A N1 million bond in like sum

Next Steps
Although challenging, Adebayo expressed confidence that Portable will meet the bail conditions soon.
This development follows recent legal troubles for the singer, who has faced multiple arrests in the past year. As the case unfolds, the public watches closely to see if Portable can steer clear of further controversies or if this marks just another chapter in his turbulent journey through fame.
