Jourdan Blue Arrested: AGT Star Faces DWI Charges in Louisiana

“America’s Got Talent” standout Jourdan Blue was arrested Saturday on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in Louisiana, marking a troubling setback for the singer who rose to fame after earning a Golden Buzzer from Howie Mandel.

The 24-year-old singer-songwriter, known as the “Bourbon Street Soul Singer,” was booked by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office on multiple charges. Along with the DWI, Blue faces counts of driving on a suspended license, careless operation, and having an open container in his vehicle. He was released from custody later the same day.

Blue captured national attention during Season 20 of “America’s Got Talent” in 2025, finishing in third place. His emotional cover of The Script’s “Breakeven” moved Mandel to press the coveted Golden Buzzer, propelling him into the spotlight.

A New Orleans street performer who built his following on TikTok, where he now has over 864,000 followers, Blue’s journey to the AGT stage was marked by hardship. In interviews, he detailed past struggles with homelessness and addiction, including a near-fatal drug overdose that he credited with turning his life around.

“I quit cold turkey, stopped everything. It was hard, but the reward was so much bigger than the struggle,” Blue told People magazine last year.

Blue has not publicly commented on his driving while intoxicated arrest. Just days after being released, he returned to posting street performance videos on social media, appearing to resume his usual routine .

The arrest adds a complicated chapter to a comeback story defined by overcoming adversity. Blue has spoken frequently about his young son, Jax, and his desire to show that “no matter how dark or dangerous things get, you can come through it and create something beautiful”.
