Joey King and Maisie Williams stepped out in New York City this week for the Practical Magic 2 press tour, bringing a new generation of witches to the screen. The Emmy-nominated actresses were photographed in the Chelsea neighborhood on July 24, heading between promotional appearances for the highly anticipated sequel.
In the film, King and Williams play Kylie and Antonia Owens, the grown daughters of Sally Owens, portrayed by Sandra Bullock. Nicole Kidman returns as Sally’s sister Gillian, with Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing also reprising their roles as aunts Jet and Frances. The sequel follows the next generation as they discover their magical legacy nearly 30 years after the events of the original film.
King leaned into the film’s magical aesthetic, wearing a burgundy Mark Gong embellished top paired with a dramatic sheer black lace skirt and Hagelstam lace-up heels. Williams opted for a softer palette in a blush satin skirt layered with a pale pink top and cream off-the-shoulder sweater. Their coordinated but distinct styles have drawn attention as the press tour continues.
Both actresses admitted the experience of joining such a stacked cast was “a little bit terrifying.” Williams shared, “You never stop learning and growing from people you work with, so getting to learn and grow from Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman was fun and a little overwhelming” . King, who first watched the original film as a child and found it scary, says it eventually became a rewatchable favorite.
Bullock and Kidman have reportedly been incredibly supportive, encouraging their younger co-stars to grow into leading ladies and producers. The four even keep a group chat where the Oscar-winning veterans cheer on King and Williams . The film is set to hit theaters on September 18, 2026.
