The estranged wife of Jesse James spent Saturday night in a Texas jail. Alaina James, professionally known as Bonnie Rotten, was booked into the Hays County Jail on a charge of assault causing bodily injury involving a family member. The 32-year-old former adult film star had her bond set at $3,000 following the arrest.
Records show the arrest was listed as “warrantless/on view,” meaning authorities either witnessed the incident themselves or had probable cause at the scene. Details surrounding what led to the arrest remain unclear, with no additional information released by law enforcement officials.
This latest legal trouble represents another chapter in the couple’s volatile relationship, which has played out in court documents and public statements since they married in June 2022. The pair welcomed a son named Bishop in 2023, but their marriage has been marked by repeated divorce filings and mutual abuse allegations.
In November 2024, Jesse filed for a restraining order in response to Bonnie’s divorce petition and her own restraining order request. Each party accused the other of domestic abuse in those filings. James claimed Bonnie once tried to break his finger before they wed, poked a hole in his neck with her thumbnail while pregnant, and kicked him from behind during an argument, breaking his wrist and dislocating his thumb.
Bonnie offered a different version of events. She claimed James slapped her in the face on one occasion and punched her in the throat after she accidentally injured him by slamming a door. She told authorities at the time that James’ accusations were “part of his ongoing attempt to manipulate and gaslight me”.
The couple has a documented pattern of conflict followed by reconciliation. Bonnie first filed for divorce twice in December 2022, accusing James of cheating while she was pregnant. Both times, she withdrew the filings. In early 2025, the couple dismissed another divorce case, suggesting they had reconciled once again.
Representatives for both Jesse and Bonnie have not responded to requests for comment regarding the weekend arrest. The incident raises questions about whether this marks the final breaking point in a marriage that has seen multiple filings, restraining orders, and now criminal charges. For now, both remain bound by their shared history, their young son, and a relationship that seems incapable of staying quiet for long.
