The “Queen Bee” of Salt Lake City is back, and she’s pulling back the curtain on the most infamous inmates in the federal system. In a bombshell first interview since her December release, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City alum Jen Shah revealed the chilling reality of living alongside convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.

Speaking with People magazine on April 1, 2026, Shah detailed her experience at Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Texas. While both women were housed in the minimum-security facility—often nicknamed “Camp Cupcake”—Shah admitted she quickly distanced herself from Maxwell. This Jen Shah prison interview 2026 highlights a stark contrast in the inmates’ attitudes toward their past actions. Shah, who served 33 months for her role in a massive telemarketing fraud scheme, expressed deep remorse, whereas she described Maxwell as “coldly dismissive.”

The most shocking revelation from the interview involved Maxwell’s reaction to her own victims. Shah recalled moments when news segments or documentaries featuring Epstein’s survivors would play on the prison television. According to Shah, Maxwell showed a “complete disregard” for the women pouring their hearts out. “That just didn’t sit with me the right way,” Shah noted, adding that Maxwell appeared to have “zero remorse” for the crimes that landed her a 20-year sentence.

Since her release on December 10, 2025, Shah has been focused on rebuilding her life and making amends. While she acknowledges her own “horrible business decisions” and the harm caused to her victims, she was quick to draw a line between her white-collar crimes and the “pure evil” she witnessed in Maxwell. Shah also touched upon her friendship with another high-profile inmate, Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, though she noted that their bond was built on their shared experiences as mothers navigating the legal system.

As Shah begins her term of supervised release, she is reportedly working on a memoir titled Dear Jen Shah, which promises more details on her time behind bars and her path to redemption.
