Legendary Belgian actor and martial artist, Jean-Claude Van Damme, has been accused of engaging in sexual activities with trafficked women from Romania, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Romanian Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT).
Shocking Allegations Uncovered in Human Trafficking Probe
According to Romanian newspaper Libertatea, the allegations stem from an ongoing investigation into human trafficking and the exploitation of minors, which was launched in 2020. The complaint claims that Van Damme, now 64, was in Cannes over a decade ago when he was allegedly “given”five women linked to a criminal group run by Romanian businessman and modeling agency owner Morel Bolea.
Attorney Adrian Cuculis, who represents one of the alleged victims, revealed that these women were forced into sexual acts despite their vulnerable state. Speaking to Romanian news station Antena 3, Cuculis explained:
“Several Romanians who are currently being investigated for forming a criminal group and pimping allegedly offered Jean-Claude Van Damme five Romanian women—photo models in Romania—for him to have sexual relations with. The person who received those benefits knew their condition.”
The complaint further states that the women were exploited under Article 182 of the Romanian Criminal Code, which covers human trafficking and the exploitation of persons.

Jean-Claude Van Damme rose to global fame as a martial arts action star, with “Bloodsport” (1988)serving as his breakthrough role. He went on to star in over 80 films, including classics like “Kickboxer,” “Double Impact,” “Double Team,” and “The Expendables 2.”
More recently, he has shifted toward voice acting, lending his voice to 2022’s “Minions: Rise of Gru”and the upcoming 2025 movie “The Gardener.”
