Nollywood icon Ini Edo is finally speaking her truth about motherhood and the deeply personal decision that led her to choose surrogacy.
In a candid interview with Chude Jideonwo on With Chude, the actress revealed the emotional rollercoaster she endured, including multiple miscarriages and the absence of a partner, before deciding to go the surrogacy route.
“It was something I wanted to keep to myself as a secret,” Ini began. “But some people decided to expose me, and that was when I decided to tell my story by myself.”
The Shanty Town star didn’t hold back, sharing that not having a husband and going through repeated heartbreaks from miscarriages pushed her to finally take control of her journey to motherhood.
“I did surrogacy when I had many miscarriages and I didn’t have a husband to impregnate me. I got tired of not having my own child, and thankfully my eggs are good, and I was able to have my own child.”
Her heartfelt admission has since sparked widespread conversation online, with fans and fellow celebrities applauding her courage and transparency. Despite receiving criticism from some quarters, Ini Edo remains firm in her decision—proving, once again, that she’s not just a screen queen, but a real-life warrior.
