Hunter Biden Reveals His Father’s Cancer Has Spread to His Bones: ‘Very Painful’

Hunter Biden has offered a stark and emotional update on his father’s health, revealing that former President Joe Biden’s prostate cancer has spread to his bones. In an interview with the BBC, Hunter described the disease as “very painful” and “very debilitating,” noting that watching his 83-year-old father battle the illness has been “really sad to watch”.

“The cancer has spread, metastasized into his bones and further,” Hunter told the BBC. “The only thing that I’d say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good”.

Joe Biden announced his diagnosis with an aggressive form of prostate cancer in May 2025, less than four months after leaving the White House. At the time, his office indicated the cancer was hormone-sensitive, making it treatable. Despite the cancer’s progression, Hunter said his father remains active and continues treatment, still serving as the “center of our family”. “He’s still out there. He’s still doing his thing,” Hunter said.
