Ghanaian-British producer Juls has spilled some fascinating details about working with Nigerian superstar Wizkid. According to the celebrated Afrobeats producer, the Grammy-winning singer has a vault full of unreleased music that might never see the light of day—thanks to his perfectionist streak.
Speaking on the Elsie Not Elisee podcast, Juls shared insights into Wizkid’s meticulous creative process. “I’ve had quite a lot of sessions with Wizkid. He’s always recording,” Juls said. “He has so many songs that are never coming out because he’s a perfectionist. He’s very particular, too.”
Despite the countless studio sessions, only one track from their collaborations—True Love—has made its way to fans. Reflecting on the experience, Juls admitted that working with Wizkid on the global hit changed his life, expressing deep gratitude for the opportunity.
Wizkid’s commitment to delivering nothing but the best might frustrate fans eager for new music, but it’s also a testament to his dedication to his craft. For an artist whose discography already boasts countless hits, it’s intriguing to imagine the treasures hidden in his archives.
For now, fans will have to settle for the music that does make the cut—though if True Love is any indication, it’s well worth the wait.
