Hailey Bieber is done with the false narratives. In a candid new Interview Magazine cover story, the Rhode founder and mother of one addressed the biggest Hailey Bieber misconception that has followed her for years, the idea that she is difficult or unkind.
When Interview editor-in-chief Mel Ottenberg asked directly, “What’s the public’s biggest misconception about you?” setting the record straight became immediate. Bieber didn’t hesitate.
“Where do I begin? I feel like we’re past the misconception that I’m a bitch,” she said.
Ottenberg quickly backed her up, adding, “You’re really not a bitch.” Bieber simply replied, “Thanks, Mel”.
The model explained that while people may never fully understand her, she has stopped letting the noise define her. “Obviously, people aren’t gonna know me the way you and I know each other,” she told Ottenberg. “We’ve had certain conversations, and we’ve spent time together, where it’s like you can actually see me. And I feel like that doesn’t translate to the public most of the time” .
The Hailey Bieber misconception about her personality is something she has actively worked to move beyond. In previous interviews, she has described the constant scrutiny as “mentally exhausting” and admitted to struggling with people-pleasing tendencies . But now, she appears more at peace with being misunderstood.
This isn’t the only rumor she shut down in the Interview feature. She also addressed persistent claims that she calls paparazzi on herself, calling the accusation “so icky” and noting that “the spirit behind it is very dark”.
But on the topic of her personality, her message was clear: the old narrative no longer applies. She’s living her life, raising her son Jack Blues with husband Justin Bieber, and refusing to engage with the people who still believe the myth.
