Popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, widely known as Jennifer, has opened up about one of the darkest periods of her life, revealing that the end of her marriage left her in deep distress, even pushing her to consider suicide.
In a heartfelt interview on With Chude, the award-winning actress shared that she had always been eager to marry and have children, but things did not go as planned.
“I’m sharing my story to encourage young ladies who feel pressured to get married. Many want marriage just to keep up with their friends, but they need to take their time because if they rush in, they will rush out. I was eager to settle down and have kids, but my marriage ended badly, and I almost died. I cried a lot and lost major deals, but I refused to let it break me.”
Despite her struggles, Funke Akindele has bounced back stronger, building an enviable career in Nollywood and inspiring millions with her resilience.
