Fast & Furious 11 Officially Starts Filming, Vin Diesel Announces Finale

Vin Diesel has confirmed that Fast & Furious 11 has officially started filming, marking the beginning of the end for the iconic franchise. The actor and producer shared a behind-the-scenes set video on Instagram announcing that cameras are rolling on what he called an “amazing finale” to the high-octane saga. After years of delays, the long wait for the final chapter is finally ending.

The 11th installment, titled Fast Forever, is scheduled to hit theaters on March 17, 2028. Director Louis Leterrier, who helmed Fast X, returns to direct the concluding chapter. The film picks up after the cliffhanger ending of Fast X, which left Dom and his son in a perilous situation as Jason Momoa’s Dante Reyes remained a major threat.

Diesel has previously hinted that the finale would bring the story back to its street racing origins, with a stronger focus on car culture and more practical stunts reminiscent of the franchise’s early days. Reports also suggest the film will return to Los Angeles, where the original The Fast and the Furious was set in 2001. The movie also seeks to honor the legacy of Paul Walker, with Diesel previously discussing the possibility of reuniting Dom with Brian O’Conner using modern filmmaking techniques.

The Fast & Furious franchise has spanned over two decades, grossing more than $7.4 billion at the worldwide box office. With Fast Forever, Diesel is bringing Dominic Toretto’s story to a close.
