Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has emphasized the importance of defeating top teams if his side is to lift silverware, ahead of their FA Cup third-round tie against Manchester United. The two Premier League giants have been drawn to face each other again in January, with Arteta noting that these high-stakes encounters are essential for Arsenal’s trophy ambitions.
Ahead of their league clash with Manchester United, Arteta remarked, “It’s going to be a big match again,” referencing the trend of facing tough opponents early in the competition. “In the last few seasons, we tend to play a big team in the third or fourth round, but you have to beat the big teams to win it.”
United, the current FA Cup champions after defeating Manchester City 2-1 in the final this past June, will be a formidable opponent for the Gunners as they seek to add another prestigious trophy to their cabinet.
