Wolverhampton Wanderers booked their place in the next round with a 2-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park. First-half goals from Joao Gomes and Matheus Cunha ensured a comfortable win for Victor Pereira’s men.
Plymouth Stun Liverpool
The biggest shock of the round came at Home Park, where Championship side Plymouth Argyle knocked out Premier League leaders Liverpool with a dramatic 1-0 win. Ryan Hardie converted a penalty eight minutes into the second half, sending Plymouth into the last 16.
Aston Villa Eliminate Spurs
Aston Villa secured a 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur. Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers fired Villa into a two-goal lead before Mathys Tel pulled one back late in the game for Spurs.
