“Everything Was Madness!” Scarlett Johansson Spills the Tea on Filming Jurassic World Rebirth

Scarlett Johansson is back on the big screen — and this time, she’s taking on dinosaurs, cliff jumps, and the wildest weather you can imagine.

The 40-year-old Hollywood icon is set to star in the highly anticipated Jurassic World Rebirth, alongside Jonathan BaileyLuna Blaise, and Mahershala Ali, and let’s just say… filming this prehistoric adventure was anything but calm.

From Dinosaurs to Disasters: “It Was Insane”

Filming took place in exotic locations like Thailand and Malta, but as glamorous as that sounds, Scarlett says it was total chaos behind the scenes.

“We all laughed a lot, and we were thrown into such extraordinary circumstances physically,” she told People.

“Half our set would wash away, and ten minutes later, it would grow too large. There was no continuity to anything. The sun would move in and out — it was just insane.”

Imagine trying to outrun a T-Rex while the set literally disappears beneath your feet!

Welcome to the Jungle (With Mosquitoes)

One of her first scenes in Thailand gave Scarlett a true “this is really happening” moment.

“We had to do a camera test in full costume — in a mosquito-infested bush,” she said.

“I was like, ‘This is really happening.’”

Jurassic? More like Survivor: Hollywood Edition.

The Harness from Hell

In one particularly daring scene, Scarlett had to rappel down a cliff. But this wasn’t movie magic — it was pure physical pain.

“We wore a movie harness over the real one, which was attached to a rig. I wasn’t really abseiling, but I still felt every tug. I was happy to say goodbye to that harness!”

Honestly, someone give this woman a medal… or at least a soft chair.

Director Scarlett? Yes, Please.

Outside of her dino adventures, Scarlett has also stepped behind the camera, making her directorial debut with the heartfelt drama Eleanor the Great, starring June Squibb and Erin Kellyman.

She premiered the film at Cannes, describing the experience as unforgettable:

“Just being able to stand alongside the cast and feel the warmth of the audience — it was such a moving moment.”

Directing gave her a brand-new appreciation for the entire filmmaking process:

“As an actor, you hope the director sees what you’re doing. Now, having directed, I understand the choices they have to make. It’s a lot of work, but incredibly rewarding.”

Scarlett’s 2025 Glow-Up

Between jungle madness, red carpet glam, and stepping into the director’s chair, Scarlett Johanssonis truly having a moment in 2025. Whether she’s facing dinosaurs or Cannes critics, one thing’s clear — she’s doing it all like a boss.
