Elizabeth Holmes will have strict conditions waiting for her when she leaves federal prison. According to court documents, the former Theranos CEO is barred from having any contact with the 14 victims of her fraud scheme — unless a probation officer directs her to, after being convicted of ripping off investors to the tune of over $452 million.

The Elizabeth Holmes supervised release terms also require her to make restitution payments to investor victims, including $40 million to Walgreens and more than $14 million to Safeway. She must give her probation officer access to her financial records, including tax returns, and authorize credit checks to ensure she stays compliant. Additionally, Holmes must participate in a mental health treatment program, have her DNA collected, and submit to searches of her residence, office, vehicle, or any other property.

Holmes is currently incarcerated at the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas, where she began serving her sentence in May 2023 after being found guilty of three counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud against Theranos investors. She was initially sentenced to more than 11 years, but a judge shaved a year off her punishment in March. Her official release date is February 22, 2030, and she will be transferred to a halfway house in Austin, Texas, in August 2027, where victims have already been notified of her impending move.
