Ed Sheeran is already planning his next musical chapter—after a whirlwind year of releasing two albums, Subtract and Autumn Variations, the singer has confirmed that his next project is already complete. In an interview with Variety, Sheeran revealed that his upcoming album—still untitled—is ready to go, with two music videos already shot and two more planned for early next year. As he continues his global tour across India, China, and the Middle East, fans can expect a full promo push when he returns to Europe in the spring and summer.

The singer, known for his versatile approach to music, shared that his next LP will mark a return to his “big pop” roots, something he hasn’t explored in a while. After the introspective Subtract and his more subdued Autumn Variations, Sheeran is excited to return to the pop scene with an album he says feels “quite exciting.”

Sheeran also opened up about his recent collaboration with Love Actually director Richard Curtis on the animated film That Christmas. He shared how Curtis asked him to write a song, which turned into the heartfelt holiday track “Under the Tree.” In this deeply personal song, Sheeran wrote from the perspective of a man waiting for his father to return home at Christmas, marking his first-ever “sad” Christmas song.

With new music on the horizon and the holiday cheer of “Under the Tree” still fresh, it looks like Sheeran’s fans are in for an exciting 2025.
