Nicki Minaj is no stranger to headlines, but this time, it’s not for her music or her larger-than-life persona. The rap queen is being sued by her former day-to-day manager, Brandon Garrett, who claims she unleashed a verbal and physical storm backstage during her Pink Friday 2 tour in 2024.
According to court documents filed in Los Angeles on January 3, Garrett alleges that things got heated after Minaj’s concert at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena on April 21. The ex-manager claims the confrontation began in her dressing room when Minaj grilled her team over their performance. Things allegedly took a wild turn when she discovered Garrett had once delegated the task of picking up her prescription to someone else.
In the lawsuit, Garrett says Nicki didn’t hold back, reportedly shouting: “Are you fing crazy having him pick up my prescription? You have lost your fing mind, and if my husband were here, he would knock out your fing teeth. You’re a dead man walking. You just fed up your whole life, and you will never be anyone. I’ll make sure of it.”
Garrett is suing the “Super Bass” rapper for battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress, claiming the incident left him shaken and humiliated.
But wait—Nicki’s camp isn’t letting this slide. Her lawyer, Judd Burstein, has already fired back, calling the claims “false and frivolous.” In a statement, Burstein said, “At this time, no complaint has been served upon Mrs. Petty. If the lawsuit is as reported, it is completely baseless. We’re confident this matter will be resolved swiftly in Mrs. Petty’s favor.”
While fans wait for Nicki’s signature clapback, this lawsuit has already set social media buzzing. Is it a real case or just another desperate attempt for attention? One thing’s for sure: Nicki Minaj knows how to stay at the center of the drama, on and off the stage. Stay tuned, Barbz—this one’s just getting started!
