Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s rivalry just took another wild turn! While 2024 saw them locked in an explosive lyrical war, 2025 is proving that their battle isn’t just about bars—it’s about numbers, too. Despite Kendrick seemingly coming out on top in their rap feud, Drake has just become the first rapper to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify this year, proving that his reign is far from over.
Drake Hits a Massive Streaming Milestone
According to reports, Drake reached 1 billion Spotify streams in just 27 days, beating out Kendrick Lamar, who hit the same milestone two days later at 29 days. This proves that, no matter how much criticism Drake faces, his streaming dominance remains untouchable. Even with Kendrick’s diss track “Not Like Us” going viral and his lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG) stirring controversy, Drake’s music continues to rack up insane numbers.
Will the Industry “Humble” Drake?
Despite his record-breaking streaming success, some industry insiders believe a major shift is coming for Drake. DJ Akademiks recently claimed that UMG might not push Drake’s next album as aggressively, hinting that the music industry could be looking to “humble” him.
“The industry is upset at Drake badly,” Akademiks said. “The word on the street is that when Drake drops next, they’re gonna humble him… The things they claim they’ve done for him, they will never do again.”
Drake vs. Kendrick: Who Will Come Out on Top?
This feud has hip-hop fans divided. While Kendrick’s lyrical jabs and raw storytelling have won him major respect, Drake’s chart-topping hits and streaming numbers keep him firmly in the game.
So, what’s next? Will Kendrick deliver another masterstroke and solidify his rap supremacy? Or will Drake keep shattering records and proving that numbers don’t lie?
