Doja Cat Confirms New Music, Weighs ‘Vie’ Deluxe vs. Separate EP

The “Paint The Town Red” singer isn’t done creating. Doja Cat sat down with Vogue and dropped a bombshell: she has a new music project finished, but she’s torn on how to release it to the world

The Grammy-winning artist revealed the material could arrive either as a deluxe edition of her critically acclaimed fifth studio album ‘Vie’ or as its own entirely separate EP. The admission confirms Doja is already moving forward creatively, even as she continues supporting her latest era.

Doja Cat released ‘Vie’ on September 26, 2025, via Kemosabe Records / RCA Records. The album marked her fifth studio effort and followed 2023’s ‘Scarlet’ and its 2024 deluxe ‘Scarlet 2 CLAUDE’. ‘Vie’ arrived with lead singles “Jealous Type,” which she performed at the 2025 MTV VMAs with legendary saxophonist Kenny G, and “Gorgeous,” featuring a star-studded music video directed by Bardia Zeinali.

The album has been described as a sonic departure, blending pop and R&B elements with heavy 1980s influences and melancholic samples. A standout collaboration with SZA, “Take Me Dancing,” reunited the pair after their massive 2021 hit “Kiss Me More”.

The new music speculation arrives as Doja Cat crisscrosses the globe on her massive ‘Tour Ma Vie World Tour.’ The extensive run supports ‘Vie’ and spans five continents, marking her biggest headlining trek to date.

The tour began with dates across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia in late 2025, followed by Latin America in February 2026. European and UK shows kick off in May 2026, hitting Dublin, London, Paris, Berlin, and more. The North American leg runs October through December 2026, culminating with a headline performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden on December 1.

For an artist who thrives on keeping fans guessing, the indecision feels intentional. Doja built her career on surprises, from the viral “Mooo!” moment to the genre-shifting ‘Planet Her’ era to the rap-focused ‘Scarlet’ chapter. Dropping new music when least expected would fit the pattern.

Whether the finished project lands as a ‘Vie’ deluxe or a standalone EP, one thing is certain: the Grammy-winning superstar isn’t slowing down. With a world tour underway and fresh material in the vault, the only question left is when, and how, she’ll let the world hear it.
