Djimon Hounsou‘s Hollywood paydays are now public record. Court documents filed in the actor’s bitter custody battle with ex Ri’za Marie Simpson reveal exactly how much he earned from recent projects, including $1.1 million for “A Quiet Place: Day One” and $1.25 million for “Red Car” alongside Halle Berry and Scott Eastwood. Hounsou also made $250,000 for a couple of “Rebel Moon” films, $400,000 for “The Monster,” $300,000 for “The Rising,” and another $300,000 for “The Zealot.”
In the financial declaration, Hounsou listed his average gross monthly income at around $60,000 but claims to spend approximately $85,000 monthly. His expenses include $9,700 for his mortgage, $5,000 for his car, $2,500 on groceries, $2,500 on dining out, $2,500 on clothing, and another $2,500 on entertainment and vacations. He also said he earned over $600,000 in residual income from various projects and $150,000 for a FIFA project.
Simpson, however, believes Hounsou’s monthly income may be higher than reported, estimating around $133,000 per month in gross income when all earnings are added. She is asking the court to award her $30,000 in interim attorney fees and another $10,000 to retain a financial expert for the case. Hounsou filed for joint custody in January after a domestic dispute that led to Simpson’s arrest on a simple assault charge, which she has denied.
