Sean “Diddy” Combs has received another reduction in his projected release date, with Federal Bureau of Prisons records now showing a February 23, 2028, release from federal custody. The 56-year-old music mogul is serving a 50-month sentence at the low-security Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey, following his July 2025 conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
The Diddy prison release date has been adjusted multiple times since his sentencing. The date shifted from June 4, 2028 to April 25, 2028, then to April 15, 2028, before settling on the current February 23, 2028 projection. While the Bureau of Prisons has not publicly explained the latest change, such adjustments typically reflect good conduct time, credits earned through approved programs under the First Step Act, or time credited before sentencing.
Combs has been participating in a drug-abuse rehabilitation program while incarcerated, a factor that could contribute to sentence reductions. Inmates who complete the Residential Drug Abuse Program may be eligible for up to 12 months off their sentence. His attorneys specifically requested placement at FCI Fort Dix because of its treatment programs and proximity to family.
Meanwhile, Combs’ legal team formally appealed his conviction and sentence last December, arguing the punishment was excessive and calling it a “perversion of justice”. The appeal remains pending before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and federal prosecutors have urged the court to reject the defense arguments.
