Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs may be facing a mountain of legal trouble, but he just notched a small win in court. A judge has ruled that his legal team must be given access to the identities of three anonymous accusers and witnesses listed in the government’s RICO case against him.
Judge Grants Diddy’s Request
Earlier this month, Diddy’s attorneys filed a motion demanding the names of the alleged victims in the case. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York initially kept their identities under wraps, but after reviewing the motion, the judge ordered that Diddy’s team must receive the names by March 10.
According to TMZ, the names will be disclosed under an “Attorney’s Eyes Only” designation, meaning only Diddy’s legal team—not the public—will have access. The first alleged victim is widely believed to be Cassie, while the other two are reportedly former girlfriends of the music mogul.
Diddy Prepares for Trial
Diddy is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, awaiting trial on charges related to racketeering and sex trafficking. Jury selection is set to begin next month, with the trial itself expected to kick off in May. If convicted, the Bad Boy Records founder could be facing a lengthy prison sentence.
At his recent arraignment in New York, Diddy pleaded not guilty to allegations of workplace abuse. Courtroom eyewitnesses noted that the usually polished music mogul appeared noticeably different, sporting a gray beard and hair, and seemingly gaining weight since his incarceration. Despite the serious charges, he waved joyfully to his children, Christian and Chance, who were present in court.
