Former EastEnders star Danniella Westbrook is getting candid about her past, revealing that while she has no career regrets, she deeply wishes she had never touched drugs.
The 51-year-old actress, famous for playing Sam Mitchell, admitted to a long battle with cocaine addiction that began in her teens and left her needing multiple nose reconstruction surgeries. Speaking to the Daily Star, she said:
“Drugs will always be my biggest regret. But other than that, no. Everything’s a learning curve. I’m one of those people who needs to learn from a mistake about 12 times before I see the light.”
Now looking toward the future, Danniella is eyeing a return to the stage, with dream roles in Chicago and Blood Brothers — and maybe even a “gangster granny” role.
She also credits the media for saving her life by exposing her addiction, forcing her to confront her demons before it was too late.
