Coldplay Kiss Cam Woman Reveals Estranged Husband Was at Same Concert

The woman at the center of last summer’s most viral moment just dropped a bombshell. Kristin Cabot sat down with Oprah Winfrey for “The Oprah Podcast” and revealed new details about the Coldplay concert that turned her into a global meme. The biggest shocker? Her estranged husband was in the building that night.

The Kristin Cabot Oprah interview dropped Monday, giving the former HR executive her first extended platform to tell her side of the story. The July 2025 footage showed Cabot wrapped in the arms of her then-boss, Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, as Coldplay’s “Yellow” played and Chris Martin joked about a possible affair. The internet exploded. Cabot’s life cratered. Now she’s finally talking.

Cabot walked into Gillette Stadium that night with friends, including Byron. Her phone buzzed. It was her daughter.

“My daughter messaged me and said, ‘Oh it’s so great that you and Andrew are both at Coldplay,'” Cabot told Winfrey. The text confirmed her estranged husband was somewhere in the 55,000-person crowd.

Suddenly the night carried new tension. “In my mind I thought, ‘Is this gonna be weird if he sees me with Andy if I run into him?'” Cabot recalled. She quickly dismissed the fear. Gillette Stadium holds 55,000 people. What were the odds?

“I’m in Gillette Stadium, there’s 55,000 people here, I’m probably not gonna run into him.”

She now wishes she had.

Looking back, Cabot sees the irony clearly. Running into her estranged husband would have been awkward but contained. Instead, she was broadcast to thousands on the jumbotron and millions online, frozen in a moment that would define her for the foreseeable future.

“That would have been better at the end of the day if I’d just run into him,” she admitted.

The irony compounds: her husband was on a date that night too. Both were living separate lives. Both happened to choose the same Coldplay show. Only one ended up a global meme.

Cabot confirmed she and her husband were already separated when the video was recorded. Their divorce was underway. The internet’s “homewrecker” narrative ignored that reality.

She also clarified that her estranged husband knew about her relationship with Byron before that night. “He knows how closely Andy and I worked together, he knows we socialized, got lunches and got drinks. It was fine,” she told Winfrey.

The “very close” working relationship she’d always maintained with CEOs, sharing desks, long hours, drinks after work, wasn’t news to her family. It just looked different on a jumbotron.

The 16-second clip cost Cabot her career. She resigned from Astronomer within weeks. Death threats followed. Her face became a meme. Her name became shorthand for public disgrace.

She’s now rebuilding. The Oprah interview marks her most extensive comments yet. An April speaking engagement at PRWeek’s Crisis Comms Conference follows, where she’ll discuss “taking back the narrative” alongside her PR representative.

The woman who ducked from a jumbotron is stepping back into the light. This time she’s not hiding.
