It’s official: Clement Lenglet has parted ways with FC Barcelona, as both parties have agreed to a mutual contract termination.
The French defender, who spent the last season on loan at Atlético Madrid, will now remain at the Wanda Metropolitano on a permanent deal.
Lenglet, who joined Barça from Sevilla in 2018, made over 100 appearances for the Catalan giants but gradually fell out of favor, spending recent seasons on loan at Tottenham and Atlético.
This marks the end of a rocky chapter at Camp Nou, as Barcelona continue to offload players to reduce their wage bill and rebuild their squad. Meanwhile, Atlético get a reliable defensive option they’ve already integrated into their system.
