The dust is barely settling on the pitch of the historic 2026 FIFA World Cup, but the tournament’s legacy is already finding a new home in the history books—and the auction block. New York auction house Christie’s, in partnership with FIFA and Global Citizen, has officially announced “One Goal: An Auction to Benefit the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund”. The week-long online event is shaping up to be a historic sports memorabilia auction, giving fans and high-profile collectors a direct shot at owning pieces of modern football and pop culture history.
Scheduled to run from July 22 to July 29, 2026, the online-only auction is moving forward with a highly unique, democratic format: every single lot will open at a flat $100 starting bid with absolutely no reserve prices. This structure ensures that grassroots fans have the exact same opportunity to bid alongside elite collectors.
All proceeds generated from the sales will directly benefit the newly established FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. The massive $100 million humanitarian initiative is designed to drastically expand access to quality education and grassroots sports programs for children living in underserved communities across the globe.
The catalog features a spectacular blend of high-end sports artifacts and historic entertainment memorabilia. Headlining the sports category is the official, game-used match ball from the final at MetLife Stadium. Bidders can also vie for authentic, game-used match balls from the opening fixtures in Mexico City, Toronto, and Los Angeles, alongside signed jerseys from the likes of Lionel Messi, Canada’s Alphonso Davies, and the entire United States Men’s National Team.
The auction also bridges the gap into pop culture, putting up items from the tournament’s first-ever official halftime show. Among the most anticipated entertainment lots is the yellow crop top and trousers worn by Shakira in her “Dai Dai” official tournament anthem music video, as well as her actual outfit from the final’s halftime performance.
Music and sports collectors can also bid on a highly exclusive “Earth Ball,” which features a handwritten list of halftime show performers including Justin Bieber, Madonna, BTS, and Shakira penned directly by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. Following Christie’s record-breaking $105 million Jim Irsay sports collection sale, this highly anticipated event is poised to capture the world’s attention once again.
